The LUCAS has ARRIVED!

The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation is VERY excited to announce that the LUCAS Chest Compression System has arrived at our ER! 🏥🚑

Thanks to the incredible support from generous donors and fundraisers like the 2024 Smile Cookie Campaign, KGHF Coffee Raffle, and the 2024 Skeena Wild Film & Photo Festival, we’ve been able to bring this life-saving equipment to our community.

The LUCAS system will assist our dedicated ER team by automatically performing chest compressions, allowing our healthcare professionals to focus on other critical tasks and reduces the physical strain on staff, helping to prevent fatigue and injury during prolonged resuscitation efforts. This proven, globally used technology will make a real difference in improving patient outcomes, and our ER staff couldn’t be more thrilled to have it!

Thank you ALL for helping us bring the best care possible to our community! 🩷
